Description

Columbia Sportswear requires a Stores Senior Business Analyst to manage functional deliverables for the global DTC IT Stores business function and systems. This requires knowledge of omni channel retail, especially Store Operations systems and processes across specialty and/or apparel retail. This position will be responsible for liaising with business users to understand and articulate business requirements, system features and priorities. This role will also work very closely with the solution architecture as well as IT delivery teams to support systems design/development/QA etc. SDLC activities. This position requires close partnership with the eCommerce teams, consultants and vendors to implement additional features and enhancements for Store Operations applications.

Success in this role requires a deep understanding of Store operations and omni channel retail. This role will maintain a strong relationship with business IT leads, communicate effectively and guide the product roadmap/implementation in a cross-functional matrix organization. Candidates must possess the ability to translate business vision/problems into clearly articulated objectives and business requirements with a drive for results. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain working relationships with internal IT team, business users, product vendors
  • Ability to comprehend complex retail and Store Operations business problems and propose solutions including business and system process improvements
  • Assess/prioritize business requests and partner with technology teams
  • Manage scope and functional deliverables for Store Operations IT projects
  • Facilitate functional meetings and/or application support activities
  • Own Store Operations regional functional deliverables
  • Work closely with Store Operations product and service vendors including global outsourced teams for project delivery

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
  • 8+ years’ relevant experience in implementing/supporting Store Operations business and systems processes
  • Experience in apparel retail is highly desired
  • Experience in at least 2 major point of sale systems e.g. Aptos, Oracle, NCR etc. required
  • Strong understanding of store back office, inventory management and omni channel retail
  • Exposure in vendor/software assessment including managing RFI/RFP process required
  • Experience working with external partner teams based in locations across the globe
  • Understanding of basic project management methodologies and agile delivery process
  • Ability to manage long/short term product roadmap for Store Operations in conjunction with functional leads
  • Experience in full life cycle implementation (requirements gathering, process design, configuration, functional design, testing, conversion, and deployment) of Store Operations systems
  • Working knowledge of Japanese/French/Chinese is desirable
  • In depth, hands-on knowledge and experience with at least one industry standard Store Operations system
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point) experience
  • Understanding of ecommerce and digital retail is an advantage
